This course of Biotechnology is the use of an organism, or a component of an organism or other biological system, to make a product or process for a specific use. It involves the study of living organisms or biological systems and the use of advanced technology to study the same. The course is designed to create professionals who could improve the quality of human life and the health of the planet. The applications of Biotechnology is vast as it caters to various industrial sectors like food, textiles, pharmaceutical, agriculture, animal husbandry, and more.
Expectations about the course (30 sec)
I expect that this course able us to develop the concept of personalized medicine and individualized treatment. Scientists diagnose the genomics (DNA molecule) of individuals, then mark the gene-disease called biomarker to make molecular (DNA) profile of the disease, then develop personalized medicine. biomarker help to predict diseases of similar bio mark person, more precise diagnosis, more effective individualized treatment, avoid antibiotics resistance and unnecessary treatment. The applications of Biotechnology is vast as it caters to various industrial sectors like food, textiles, pharmaceutical, agriculture, animal husbandry, and more.
