Topic 1:

“No matter who statistics one believes it is clear that English now has more non-native speakers than native ones” (Week 1996).

How far do you agree?

GDB Idea Solution:

I totally agree with the given statement of (Week 1996).

English is the most utilized language in comparison to another language in the world. This is is the only language in the world that has more non-native users than native ones.

No matter who statistics one believes; it is clear that English now has more non-native speakers than native ones.

Some estimates put the ratio at 4/1 in favor of the non-native speakers. This would not be wrong to say that English has achieved almost victory in the global world because English and globalization have come a long way together which has made English nearly the second language of almost everyone.

Topic 2:

Pakistan is facing a serious challenge to ensure that all children particularly the most disadvantaged should attend stay and learn in school. An estimated 22.8 million children 5-16 are out-of-school in Pakistan.

What are some of the challenges faced by the government in putting children in schools?

GDB Idea Solution:

In currently Pakistan has the world second highest number of out-of-school children (OOSC) with an estimated 22.8 million children aged 5-16 not attending school, representing 44 % of the total population in the age group.

The major challenges faced by the government in putting children in schools.

1. Gaps in service provision at all education levels is a major constraint to education access.

2. Socio-cultural demand side barriers combined with economic factors and supply related issue (such as availability of school facility).

3. Putting in place a credible data system and monitoring measures to track retention and prevent drop out of school children is still a challenge.

4. Encouraging increase in education budgets has been observed through at 2.8 percent of the total GDP, it is still well short of the 4 % target.

5. At the system level, inadequate financing limited enforcement of policy commitments and challenges inequitable implementation impede reaching the most disadvantages.
